“And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them:and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.”Genesis 15:5-7.
One of the expectations of one generation from the former generation is heritage. This concept has cultural, religious, social connotations. Proverbs 19:14 clearly states that houses and riches are the inheritance of fathers. The quest by fathers to leave an inheritance is one of the drivers of corruption and the cycle of frustration.
The thought of seeing the seed as stars could have discouraged Abraham instead of encouraging him. How many resources in houses and riches would have been adequate to settle such a crowd. God fulfilled this covenant to Abraham, he became the father of a great nation.
“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”Genesis 12:2-4.
Greatness begins with a name, the name of Abraham is synonymous with greatness and a blessing. The covenant is a turnaround platform where earthlings are turned to stars. The limits of humanity are the zero or start-point of divinity for a turning point.
Everyone that encounters the same God and enters into the same covenant ends up as a shining star in life. Redemption is not for the reduction of status but elevation to stardom.
Every seed of Abraham is a star that must shine, several are already illuminated by the covenant of blessing, you’re next in line. The covenant is the turning point, Christ Jesus is the covenant keeper.
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”Galatians 3:13-14.
Prayer:
Thank you father for the power of the covenant that turnaround lives and destinies of earthlings to stars. The covenant turning point is real, far above, beyond and exceeding any other force of earth by the same Christ Jesus.
