See! The salvation of the Lord

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:9-11.

One of the events that marked the the birth of Christ was the vision of angels, God’s special agents for information. They’re messengers of the good tidings of great joy. They are sent to announce, inform, show and guide men. They could not hide their joy, excitement, enthusiasm at the birth of Christ. It was too good to be true that God was dwelling among men; a miracle was born and they’re witnesses.

God has begun to do a new thing among men; redemption sign and sealed The extraordinary was becoming ordinary for the ordinary to become extraordinary. Everyone that would see him for who he is becomes like him. In one day everything changed, God became man for man to become like God.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger”. Luke 2:11-12.

It’s unbelievable, a saviour is born today, it’s a day to remember. By one encounter, an ordinary day is turned to an extraordinary day, ordinary lives are turned to extraordinary lives. What was wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger is a miracle that turns other people to miracle, signs and wonders. It’s not time to watch, this is not a scene from the movies but life changing.

In the manger lies the salvation prepared for all generation. A light to lighten the Gentiles, every tribe and tongue included. Everyone that sees him, has this testimony; I have seen the salvation of the lord. Don’t watch, don’t like, take up the salvation of the lord today.

“Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.”Luke 2:28-32.

Prayer:

Dear Father, thank you for the gift of salvation delivered simply and ordinarily in a manger. My eyes have seen the salvation of the lord; ordinary is turned to extraordinary by this encounter with the same Christ Jesus.

The Miracle of Christ

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Luke 2:11-12.

One of the things that some people engage in during this holiday season is watching movies. I also got caught up in the frenzy and watched a few “Christmas movies”. They were interesting or more so intriguing; terms like Christmas tradition and miracle got my attention. I tried watching the movies to the end to witness the miracle or tradition spoken so much about. I realized that the miracle or tradition has nothing to do with Christ.

The fakes prevail only when the original is unknown. Christ is the reason for the season, salvation is the gift of Christ. A miracle, sign and wonder was born; that’s the essence of the celebration.

“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:9-11.

A miracle is an express intervention of heaven in the affairs of men. A miracle sign and wonder is the signature of heaven on earth. Christ is the sign, wonder and miracle, he gives birth to sign and wonder. The celebration of Christ results in the birth of many more signs in those connected to him by salvation. As the new year begins, it’s time to subscribe or connect to Christ. Everyone that connects to him becomes a living sign and wonder.

Salvation is the greatest miracle, redemption makes a living sign and a wonder. God gave his son, born of man to make living a miracle.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”John 3:16-17.

Prayer:

Father I am overjoyed to know that Christ was born a sign and a wonder to make me a living miracle. I connect to the same grace to live the life he gives by the same Christ Jesus.

SALVATION SIGN

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:9-11.

A friend of mine recently complemented my good sense of humor and suggested that I could make a good career as a comedian. I thanked him for the complement but informed him that life is too serious to be joked about as a profession. He interjected by mentioning a few popular names of entertainers and their affluent lifestyle. I also reminded him of those that are depressed, on drugs and in rehab if that makes him happy.

Man have found ways to manage misery, despondency and frustration; a friend calls the big screen a smokescreen instead. The light of Christ lightens up the lives of men with great joy without ceasing. The saviour has no substitute, salvation has no equivalent.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”Luke 2:11-12.

Christ was not born for us to have a holiday but a change of hearts. The celebration of Christ is the reminder of the gift of salvation. Salvation or redemption is the sign of the season, not a new series on the big screen. The folly of Santa cannot suffice, another series on the smokescreen may not be enough to drown the truth that the saviour is born.

The celebrations begins with an encounter with the saviour and king. This season is for a turnaround by the saviour and a rebirth through him. The sign of Christ is for the termination of the misery of man. The saviour clears the smokescreen of darkness by the light of his presence.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”John 3:16-17.

Prayer:

Dear God and father, thank you for the gift of salvation in Christ Jesus my lord. He was born as a sign for my rebirth in life. Miseries end where his life emerges by the same Christ my saviour.

The Sign of Christ

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:9-11.

Entertainment is one of the biggest business in the world today. Most estimates of worth of the entertainment industry is always short of the true value. The more is known, newer developments dwarfs previous attempts at entertainment. Clowns, jesters, jokers, entertainers have become some of the highest earning people. The celebration of Christ is not a joke and the goal is not for happiness but joy.

Christ came to bring joy as a gift to the world. The celebration is for the birth of Christ Jesus the saviour not for Santa the king of clowns.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”Luke 2:11-12.

There are many clowns but one saviour of the world. The sign of Christ is not a dress code but salvation. The gift of Christ is not under the Christmas tree but eternal life. Many have confused the tradition of men with the purpose of God. Christ is the reason for the season, this is not a script from the movies.

Reality is not in contest with virtual reality; Christ is not a clown. In the manger lay the saviour, the son and the gift of God. For this reason was he born for this cause came he into the world.

Salvation or redemption is the priceless gift of God to man. That is the sign of Christ.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”John 3:16-17.

Prayer:

Thank you father for the gift of your son Jesus Christ for the salvation of the world. The Joy of salvation is renewed at his birth in us that believe in him. So let the sign of Christ abound in us by the same Christ Jesus.

LIGHTED LIVES

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Isaiah 60:1-3.

One of the dangers of being in darkness for too long is the risk of accommodation. One becomes so accustomed to darkness that is seems normal. This is the state of the world before the coming of Christ.

Christ was born as the light of the Light of the world to lighten lives. Light has come for all, unfortunately, only some have seen the light. When the light is seen everything and everyone shines in life. The light of Christ radiates, penetrates and permeates everywhere. The birth of Christ is not just for celebration but illumination, to see and be seen.

Light has no substitute, when light appears lives arise.

“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of  David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:9-11

The light of Christ gives life a meaning. Darkness is living without meaning or a saviour in the world. Heaven announced the birth of Christ as a testament to all by light. Glory is the light of heaven, Christ is the intrusion of heaven into the earth. Whatever is in heaven is now accessible on earth through Christ.

The glory of God lightens up the lives of men. Salvation or redemption is enrollment into the essence of life or living with meaning. Christ was not born to give us a holiday but a life.

Everyone that receives the good tidings of Christ the saviour is lighted up with Joy; arise and shine.

“They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalms 34:5-6.

Prayer:

Dear father of light and father of our saviour, thank you for penetrating our lives with the light of life. It has indeed lighted us with joy. By his birth we have meaning for living by the same Jesus Christ.

Festival of Light

Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke 1:78-79.

One of the common themes during Christmas celebration is lights. Everything is tastefully decorated with small lights that blink. The lights come in different forms, shapes and sizes; lights around. From buildings to Christmas trees to cars, there’s light everywhere. Some have claimed that electricity bills are highest in this season. The aerial view of some cities, towns and villages are unbelievably lit.

The coming of Christ was announced by lights, the celebration is not going to be different. Light is the emblem of Christ, not just bulbs but light. Light is the master key to life, Christ is the light of life. The birth of Christ is the celebration of light visitation.

“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”Luke 2:9-11.

Light is the emblem of divine presence and the appearance of Christ. The glory of the lord is the light of Christ. The birth of Christ translates the light of God to men. The glory of God, the heavenly light is now with man; that’s the good tidings. Christ came to bring light into the world, not just bulbs.

Darkness is man’s greatest enemy, light has come for brighter life. The good news of light invasion come with great joy into the lives of men. Christmas is the festival of lights as one has humorously said; good tidings, great joy. When light comes,  everyone and everything rises and shine. No one should be stranded in darkness, light has come; Christ is born.

It’s a festival of light, arise and shine in life.

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”Isaiah 60:1-2.

Prayer:

Thank you father for the gift of Christ, the light of the world and the light of life.   We celebrate the light you give and the life it brings in Jesus name.

The Babe Wrapped In Swaddling Clothes

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:11-14.

One of the common sight on social media is the pictures of newborn babies. These pictures are trendy for some reasons. It’s also common to see babies swaddled in a particular fabric which usually represents a particular country of birth. It’s a thing of pride for some person to have their baby in this foreign country. This is especially so for those from developing countries like ours. This place of birth gives access to foreign citizenship under the guise of obtaining better medical care during delivery.

The cost is worthwhile to some persons and outrageous to others. Where were you born? What was used to swaddle you as a baby? The place of birth cannot guarantee or preclude greatness. The greatest was born in a manger, surrounded by nature and animals. The name of your hospital of birth does not infuse greatness into your destiny.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6.

Swaddling is now a recognized method of comfort care and pain relief. Born in a manger in the city of David is Christ the saviour of the world. A lowly birth, a refugee status was the king of kings and Lord of lords. Announced by the heavenly host, worshipped by angels and visited by shepherds. Some have considered the nativity of Christ as a fairy tale but fortunately true; a king is born.

Your birth place may grant you citizenship of a country but encounter with Christ grants citizenship of heaven. The saviour is born, heaven is now accessible to everyone that believes in him. The salvation prepared for all is the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.  The creator determines your status irrespective of your size or stage of life.

Prayer
Thank you dear father for the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes which is the saviour and lord Jesus Christ. Heaven has come down to the earth for mortals to have access through the same Jesus Christ.

THE GIFT OF SALVATION

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:11-14.

In a world of superheroes, superman and fierce looking avatars, many wonder how the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes fit into the picture. Over several generations, superheroes have come and gone.
The history books are replete with stories of fierce looking warriors that have walked the face of the earth before and after Christ. Not one of them is honoured or remembered as Jesus Christ the lord.

These were great men and women of valour, but non of them is the saviour of the world. The saviour is born, great sages are made. Salvation is not a byproduct of strength, skill and warfare; it is the gift of God.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17.

Everyone born of a woman, sage, hero, superhero or warrior is in need of salvation. Jesus is the gift of God for the salvation of men irrespective of their status. When a saviour is born, salvation is sure to be given. This is the greatest need of man, whether great or small.

Everyone born of a woman is born in sin and in need of a saviour. Jesus was born to save the world from the law of sin and death. There are enough superheroes, warriors and supermen in the world today.
If the world needed more, God would have sent more.
What the world never had, God sent in his son; a saviour, the gift of salvation.

Prayer
Dear Father, forgive me for seeking a superhero, a warrior and a superman instead of a saviour. Thank you for meeting my needs by sending your son and saviour Jesus Christ.

A SAVIOUR IS BORN!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

The birth of a child is a happy event and usually announced with great joy. Every child born of a woman has a birthday, synchronous with his a date of birth. December 25 is obviously not the date of birth of Jesus but a day to celebrate his birth. Everyone is born for a reason and for a purpose. He was born, begotten of God, as the saviour of the world.

Do you know your birthday? Natural and spiritual. The first birthday is easy, the second is for them that have become sons of God. It’s an encounter with Jesus Christ, a new birth and a new life

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”John 1:12-13.

A child is born, a son is given with the government upon his shoulder. The government of the kingdom of God is upon his shoulder. This is a new order, a new kingdom, a community of sons of God in manifestation. We’re not born to belong to the world, we are born into another kingdom.

The birth of Jesus is the beginning of a new kingdom with the government upon his shoulder. God is in control and the sons are in charge. We celebrate his birth, and also our connection to him by redemption.
To us a child is born, sonship is given; the kingdom of God is agog with celebration for the first begotten of God. The same celebration continues for everyone begotten of God, a saviour is born.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”Luke 2:11-12.

Prayer
Thank you heavenly father for the gift of a saviour. The government of the kingdom is upon his shoulder, turning the world to the kingdom of God. From one son and saviour many sons & saviours are born through the same Jesus Christ.
