And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:9-11.
One of the events that marked the the birth of Christ was the vision of angels, God’s special agents for information. They’re messengers of the good tidings of great joy. They are sent to announce, inform, show and guide men. They could not hide their joy, excitement, enthusiasm at the birth of Christ. It was too good to be true that God was dwelling among men; a miracle was born and they’re witnesses.
God has begun to do a new thing among men; redemption sign and sealed The extraordinary was becoming ordinary for the ordinary to become extraordinary. Everyone that would see him for who he is becomes like him. In one day everything changed, God became man for man to become like God.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger”. Luke 2:11-12.
It’s unbelievable, a saviour is born today, it’s a day to remember. By one encounter, an ordinary day is turned to an extraordinary day, ordinary lives are turned to extraordinary lives. What was wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger is a miracle that turns other people to miracle, signs and wonders. It’s not time to watch, this is not a scene from the movies but life changing.
In the manger lies the salvation prepared for all generation. A light to lighten the Gentiles, every tribe and tongue included. Everyone that sees him, has this testimony; I have seen the salvation of the lord. Don’t watch, don’t like, take up the salvation of the lord today.
“Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.”Luke 2:28-32.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for the gift of salvation delivered simply and ordinarily in a manger. My eyes have seen the salvation of the lord; ordinary is turned to extraordinary by this encounter with the same Christ Jesus.
