GIVE US THIS DAY

After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:9-11.

Bread is one of the discussions that evoke interest especially when it’s in short supply. The idea that bread can be abundantly supplied is always a welcomed discourse.

It’s interesting to know that God is concerned about bread and its sufficiency. This may come as a surprise to some people, others care less. Your source determines your supplies, the quality and quantity. Give us this day our daily bread is not just about food to eat, it’s about everything you need. If its all about food, then it’s not worthwhile; bread is commonly available. If bread for food is all you need, your needs are small. Bread in the verses above is everything needed for life; health, wisdom, power, strength, career, business, family and riches.

God is simply saying that as your source of supply, you have nothing short of abundance in every good thing.

“Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord:yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters ‘table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith:be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.”Matthew 15:25-28.

The needs of man are as diverse as the faces we see. These needs maybe dynamic as the day changes and as one need is resolved. God is interested in your well being and wholeness, not just food for the belly. Jesus called healing “the children’s bread” in the verses above. Every need is rated as bread, and its abundantly supplied daily by the father. The source is not for crumbs but for complete packages, every help needed. While the children eat on the table, the crumbs are for the dogs. For every area of need, there is a package of “bread”for your satisfaction.

Every good and perfect gift from God is called bread from above. There is nothing needed by man that cannot be abundantly supplied by God. God is the source of bread that satisfies every need of man, Jesus is the bread of life. For everyone that is in need of daily bread, you will never lack it in abundance. It’s simply saying, I need Jesus every day!

“I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven:if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever:and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”John 6:48-51.

Prayer: Father thank you for the bread of life that meets every need of man. An end has come to lack and want and the help we need is available daily. Thank you lord Jesus for being our daily bread. We shall never lack any good thing abundantly in Jesus name.

OUR DAILY BREAD

After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:9-11.

I overheard one jester proffering reasons why Christians are not wealthy. He claimed it was because of their prayers and expectation of daily portions from God. “While others are busy working to make money, they are busy praying for daily bread.” The daily bread attitude according to him impairs creativity and restrict abundance. Someone asked him for his opinion about the Lord’s prayer and he said we should forget about it. Well, am still asking God my father for daily bread and have never lacked nor begged for bread.

It takes just one day to be a millionaire or a billionaire, may this be that day.

“The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”Psalms 16:5-6.

God gives his children daily portions without fail, it’s not a mean portion. The most precious gift of God to all is life, the next great gift is today. Great starts small! The portion for today’s sufficient for today’s assignment. The expectation of all is like a cup, but God supplies your lot to overflow. The almighty is the most generous, our portion is with him. He doesn’t call for a buffet, but for a banquet to eat in and to take away also. Nothing is permitted to stay overnight or be stale; the supply is daily and fresh.

Many are stingy because they know not when their next supply will arrive. The kingdom of God guarantees daily supplies in abundance. The jester was wrong, our daily bread is synonymous with excess, abundance and having more than enough. So I pray, give us this day our daily bread!

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow:for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”Matthew 6:33-34.

Prayer: My dear father, I know now that the kingdom of God is the emblem of abundance & sufficiency not stinginess. Guaranteed daily portions of every resource is the signature of the kingdom of God. Never lacking, never begging. Give us this day our daily break in Jesus name.

A MIRACLE IS BORN!

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:19-20.

Every country in the world have diplomats and ambassadors, so also the kingdom of God. Being born again is not an end in itself but a means to an end; to live and fulfill these purposes. Some persons could have wished that as soon as they give their life to Christ to be taken to heaven the headquarters of the kingdom of God but that is not so. We are saved to save others, called to call another, changed to challenge others.

New birth is the beginning of the journey of redemption, heaven is the destination but the kingdom of God is the process and procedure. We are saved from sin, Satan and sickness by the power of the kingdom of God. The new life comes with a new heart and a new mission in the kingdom of God.

“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean:from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”Ezekiel 36:25-27.

The new creature is brand new in all ramifications; purified, a new heart and a new spirit. While we are used to the heart as an anatomical organ, we are granted a spiritual heart, the Central processing unit or CPU of the new man. Just as the transplantation of a new heart gives a new lease of life, the translation of a new spiritual heart gives new and eternal life.

The purification process is by the washing of the water from the word of God. This is also from the cleansing effect of the blood of the lamb shed for you We are initiated into the life and nature of God by the Spirit of God. The translational effect of the power of the kingdom of God results in the creation of a new man in Christ. A new man is born by the water and the spirit of God to gain entry into the kingdom of God.

From flesh, the spirit is born, from failure a success is born, from mortals, a miracle is born.

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”John 3:5-7.

Prayer: Thank you father for making the new man a miracle by the new birth. We are translated from mortality to immortality by the gospel and reconciled to God. A new heart and a new spirit is the product of this miracle of transformation. My life is a miracle, thank you Jesus.

GIVE US THIS DAY

“After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:9-11.

Bread is a basic necessity, the abundance or lack of it is a problem. Bread also represents what to eat, for nourishment and accomplishment. Lack of bread is often used for lack of what to eat, abundance of bread represents freedom from scarcity, lack and want. Bread is used for both natural and supernatural supplies.

Citizens of heaven, ambassadors and diplomat of the kingdom are not permitted to beg or borrow; they have abundant supplies from above. There is no denying that some beg on radio and television in the name of the gospel; it’s a sign that they’re not sent. Every vision has provision, so also every purpose under heaven. The creator of all things does not lack neither does he send beggars to his creation. Lack of bread is the proof that your connection to the source is lost.

“The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage..”Psalms 16:5-6.

Your purpose determines your portion or package in life. Give us this day our daily bread is not for chanting, but the ticket to abundance. Natural bread comes from around but spiritual supply is from above. Those that look up never lack any good thing; they go up! Ambassador and citizens of heaven look up for their daily supplies of good. Those that have a heavenly father never look to men as their source of good.

Heaven is the source of supply of every citizen, their portion of good is never in short supply. The economy of heavenly citizens are not determined by their host nation. Heaven never lacks bread, ambassadors are guaranteed of divine supply.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”James 1:17-18.

Prayer: Dear father in heaven, thank you for being the source and supplier of every good thing. Good is never in short supply daily to the citizens and ambassadors of the kingdom of God. They never beg nor borrow from earthlings rather give freely and distribute. Thank you for daily supplies of divine abundance in Jesus name.

AMBASSADOR WITH PORTFOLIO

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:19-20.

I once heard of some persons who were appointed ambassadors but were not assigned to any particular nation. Between the appointment and their assignment, they were called diplomats or Ambassadors without portfolio. This designation stuck to them years after they were posted to foreign missions. Everyone that is saved is assigned to the ministry of reconciliation. This is the portfolio that every born again child of God must be committed to.

We are ambassadors with portfolio, we are saved and assigned to the ministry of reconciliation. Saved to save others, showing off the kingdom of God so that they may also be partakers of the same.

“After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:9-11.

One may wonder, why so much fuss about being an ambassador of Christ? Every ambassador represents his native country in a foreign country. His interest and goal is to promote and show off his home country. He is as great and mighty as his home country and gets regularly briefed from thence.

As ambassadors of Christ and diplomats of the kingdom of God, we are daily briefed from heaven, sourced and supplied from above. The economic situation is no determined by your country of abode but the country represented. Even in famine, drought and recession we are abundantly supplied from above. It’s not up to the country of residence but to the heavenly country.

“For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly:wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God:for he hath prepared for them a city.”Hebrews 11:14-16.

Prayer: Thank you father for making us citizens of the heavenly country and partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. We are ambassadors with portfolio on earth, fulfilling the mission and vision of the kingdom of God in Jesus name.

PEOPLE OF GOD

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10.

Titles and qualifications come with prefixes placed before names. When some persons are introduced in social engagements, the number of prefixes added to their names may become very long. I live in a society where many people have titles and desire to show them off to people. Every heavenly citizen also have some titles unfortunately they cannot be added as a prefix to their names. These are expression of the change of status by redemption.

A chosen generation, royal priesthood, a holy nation and a peculiar people; people of God. These are not just mere titles obtained by qualification but received at redemption. We are not expected to become but made at the new birth a people of God.

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.”Matthew 4:19-22.

It’s amazing how Jesus recruited the people who follow him. He calls and they follow, the call is simple but it is a selection process making everyone called a chosen generation. Many are called, few are chosen! Every citizen responded to the call. Many are called from lowly background and elevated to royalty and a priesthood in Christ. We are also a holy nation, a people sanctified, separated for kingdom use.

Peculiar people, special, unique and beloved of God; the people of God. We are not going to become these in the future, this is who we are in Christ. What we could not achieve naturally is granted to us by the new birth. Everyone that Jesus calls, he makes; from no people to the people of God. This is who I am! Redemption qualified me to be made.

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”Colossians 1:12-14.

Prayer: Father, I give you thanks because we are qualified by redemption to become the people of God. We that were once no people have been chosen for royalty, holy and peculiar by the new birth. You called and we came and became citizens of the kingdom. My joy overflows in Jesus name.

THY KINGDOM COME!

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:7-9.

Whenever the gospel is preached, words like heaven, the kingdom of God, kingdom of heaven or kingdom come to the fore and some wonder at their meanings. The kingdom is God’s way of doing things by his life nature and ability. It also means his system, process or operations; God’s modus operandi. The kingdom of God can operate or manifest anywhere but usually operated by citizens of heaven.

Heaven is a geographic location, the place where God dwells. It’s the headquarters or epicenter of the kingdom of God. The principles and practice of the kingdom of God operates perfectly in heaven. The kingdom of God and kingdom of heaven is one and the same. These terms are used when God’s principles or ways operate outside heaven.

“After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:9-11.

Heaven is rid of the devil and his evil cohorts, the earth is their operational base. The kingdom of God destroys evil and ejects the devil wherever he is found. Thy kingdom come is part of the citizens prayer for the establishment of God’s principles and practice on the earth.

The citizens of heaven spreads the fragrance of heaven on the earth. Every citizen is a son of God and an ambassador of heaven. The life nature and ability of God is already at work in them on the earth. Now you know why we pray to the father through Jesus Christ, he has made heaven a reality to us. The prayer includes a heaven on earth experience; thy kingdom come!

Life on earth is temporary and transient, heaven is the permanent home. Everything and everyone from heaven manifests the kingdom of God on earth.

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”Revelation 12:10-11.

Prayer: Dear heavenly father, I am delighted to know that your kingdom has come on earth and I am a citizen by salvation. The kingdom is growing on the earth and destroying the works of the devil. May it be done on earth as in heaven in Jesus name.

SEVEN COURSE BANQUET

Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. John 3:10-13.

Many persons wonder what heaven is like?

Some may even think that there is nothing to it and that life on earth is all there is. The reality of heaven is made tangible by the products of heaven. How can a place that produces certain good things not exist? That is preposterous. Jesus Christ is the product of heaven and has brought heaven on earth. Heaven is accessible through him! New birth is the byproduct of heaven. It is the beginning of miracles, signs and wonders; heaven on earth experience.

Prayer is the communication tool from earth to heaven , but it’s strictly for citizens. Answers to prayers are the products of heaven and they are the sevenfold riches of redemption.

“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”Revelation 5:12-13.

I was once asked to explain the difference between a buffet and a banquet. These are ways that food is served to a very large group of people. Different kind of meals or couses are served to meet the needs of all & the culinary taste of attendees to eat as much as they want. A banquet is different, as guests serve themselves, eat in and take away as much as they desire. But not so with a buffet.

The sevenfold banquet is set in heaven for citizens to serve themselves, eat in and take away on earth as much as they desire. Heaven has no lack, citizens are not permitted to beg or borrow. There is nothing that you need that heaven won’t supply! This is not a strangers zone, it is strictly for citizens and sons of God. Those with the valid ticket to the banquet and their passport to heaven.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”James 1:17-18.

Prayer: Dear father, thank you for providing for us the sevenfold riches of redemption in a banquet through Christ Jesus, the never ending heavenly supplies. I am a partaker by the new birth; never lacking nor begging on earth but having more than enough of every good thing. My joy overflows in Jesus name.

CITIZENS PRAYER

After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:9-11.

The verses above is the commonest prayer recited daily in different locale by Christians. This is commonly referred to as theLlord’s prayer. Prayer is a connection between those on the earth and heaven, without a definite connection man cannot receive anything from God. The first part of the prayer addresses God as our heavenly father, that is instructive. He is God to all but father to some.

Among other things therefore prayer is for those whose God is their heavenly father. This prayer highlights the fatherhood of God and the sonship of men. New birth is the ticket to sonship and passport to heavenly citizenship. Prayer becomes a delight when God is your father and heaven your home.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”James 1:17-18.

Every good gift does not come from abroad but from above. In the times of lack, people look around for things but citizens look up. Heaven is not just a wish, Jesus revealed it as a place. Citizens of heaven are not permitted to beg, they ask and receive from God their father. Heaven has no lack, there are no beggars in heaven, citizens receive from heaven’s banquet all their needs on earth. Every citizen of heaven is entitled to abundant supplies from above. New birth is our enrollment to heavens citizenship and qualifier to answered prayers.

Prayers therefore is for citizens, not for strangers. Citizens of heaven depend on heavenly resources for life on earth. These sevenfold redemption package is our heavenly banquet for life on earth.

Prayer: Dear father in heaven, i am thankful for the riches of redemption in Christ Jesus. Thank you also for access granted by the new birth to the riches of redemption. I am a citizen and partaker in Jesus name.
