Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:36-40.
The word of God is divided into Moses, the law and the prophets before Christ. While Moses is the covenant books, the law is the Jewish lifestyle and the prophets spoke of Christ in advance. As the discourse rages in some quarters that the law is fulfilled and abolished, many are unaware that Jesus practiced and preached the law & the prophets. Jesus practiced fully the law before becoming the fulfilment of the law. He also established a new order based on love & mercy, not on judgement.
The blood that was shed on the cross was the bridge to the new covenant. The new covenant in his blood is the love covenant; that was how salvation came to all. He made it so clear that God was interested in saving the world, not just the Jews. God was unwilling for any to perish, he made a love sacrifice to save all.
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:14-16.
On the cross was the sacrifice of Jesus as the gift of love for the world to be saved. There is no one that cannot be saved, healed or delivered. If Saul the persecutor of the church became Paul an Apostle, all can be saved. Apart from the natural Jews, there is a generation of spiritual Jews in Christ. Everyone that believes in Jesus experiences the power of love in his blood. The cross of Christ is the only ritual that saves man from sin and death. His love has made a way for us to connect to God by his death.
Salvation is freely available but neither cheap nor diminished in value. The blood is the price of redemption, his death is the cost of our salvation. The love covenant sets us free from the hold of sin and death. No one is permitted to perish, he died hat we might live eternally.
“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”Hebrews 9:11-12.
Prayer: Dear Father, the blood of Jesus is the token for sin and death, the price for redemption of man. Thank you for not willing that any should perish but that all be saved. Thank you for the love covenant in Jesus name.
