OFFSPRING OF GOD

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Acts 17:29-30.

Heaven, hell and the afterlife were a guess before Christ, everyone has his version and they had several names. After the death and resurrection, Christ revealed them as geographic locations and him their administrator. The resurrection of Christ also reveals the true nature of man: a spirit, having a soul but living in a body.

Religion is the platform for guesswork & assumptions; Christ gives life, reality and certainty. Christ breaks the cycle of religion and brings certainty and reality to life. Idols are byproducts of human guesswork, no wonder they differ from one location to the other. God is not a guess, worshipping him is not a farce but a fact.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit:and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”John 4:23-24.

Everyman looks like who he worships” the words of a wise man with details. The offsprings of God are like him; God is a Spirit, he made them spirits. Christ is the picture or image of God; the first born of the father. The curse of idolatry on Africa is terminated & we are translated in Christ. A stone, plastic beads, woodwork, sculpture, brassware, gold or silver cannot represent God. Those that worship him are changed into his image and nature.

A change of heart is the first step to worshipping God; repentance gives access to worship in spirt and truth.

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” Colossians 1:12-15.

Prayer: Father, thank you for making a way for me to become your offspring. God is a Spirit, I am a spirit in his image and likeness. My worship is in spirit and truth! Thank you lord Jesus.

CHARM OFFENSIVE

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him:but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21.

An altar call during the church conference was made to retrieve charms worn by some attendees. A heap of charms, amulets, contraptions was the product; and a bonfire was the end. This may come as a surprise to many; not everyone in church is in touch. The church is at its multitude era in Nigeria, it’s a hospital for the soul and everyone comes. The numbers are swelling, however the members are few; multitude ministries. Halting between two opinions is the norm until conviction comes.

The era of rejecting people from coming into congregations until conviction has passed. Without salvation, there is not spiritual connection. Many have given their life more than once, yet the connection has not been established, so they try other means until then and still come to church in hope. Giving your life to Christ does not bring magical rewards, it’s the beginning of redemption journey.

“But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: For thou shalt worship no other god:for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:”Exodus 34:13-14.

Many have provoked God to jealousy by idolatry. It’s one thing to have charms and amulets as an unbeliever, it’s another to come to church with one as a pseudo believer. Their lot have become worse because they have provoked the father of Spirits. Their charms fail, yet God is not working for them. The worst position is to sit on the fence, halting between two opinions. The worst charm offensive is sin; a carnal believer, importing the world into the church.

Sin short circuits the flow of the power of resurrection in church for miracles and turnarounds. One Achan is all it takes! When God becomes your enemy, who will help you? Stop it, before it stops you! God is seeking for worshippers, he saves, purges and changes their story. May you be found worthy of his call.

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”1 John 5:20-21.

Prayer: My father, I know you’re the only true God and that the gods of men are idols. Redemption is my disconnection from idolatry to serve the true God. I receive more grace today dear lord to keep myself from the sin of idolatry in Jesus name.

REDEMPTION HOUR

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth:so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:6-8.

One of the turning points in my life was an understanding of the nature of the new man. I am not a spirit soul, and body but I am a spirit, having a soul and living in a body; does that sound familiar? I am a spirit, a human spirit. I like the song that says “I know who I am” it’s for those that have this nature. Understanding your identity is the key to living better than a nonentity. Every partaker of this nature connects and collects the riches of redemption. Everyone is born with a natural identity called flesh, supernatural birth is key to true worship. Resurrection gives birth to a new identity, a new man, a spirit man. Every one that died in Adam is quickened or made alive in Christ.

The resurrection of Christ brought to us the hour of redemption and the dead are raised or brand new men are born. Birds of the same feather flock together; Flesh to flesh, Spirit to spirit.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit:and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”John 4:23-24.

True worship begins with a change of status from flesh to spirit. He is God of all, but father of them that have the same spiritual DNA; Spirits. Many seek to worship God, no flesh can worship him for lack of connection. Being born of the Spirit is the beginning of true worship; connection restored. Flesh cannot connect with the spirit nor can the spirit the flesh; only the cross connects. The power of resurrection changes flesh to spirit. Worship is the connection of the human spirit to the Holy Spirit of God. Worship makes God your father and you are sons of God. Those that worship the father of Spirits become more and more like him. Worship is not achieved, his presence does not come down, we go up!

Worship is the reason for redemption and a must for spirits of just men. I worship the father of spirits; I am a spirit, having a souls but living in a body. Redemption connects divinity and humanity in unique ways, I am an example. Redemption hour has just begun! The wind of change is blowing on the earth.

“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,”Hebrews 12:22-23.

Prayer: My father, your desire for worshippers is one of the reasons Jesus died. The cross crucifies the flesh and a new spirit is released by the resurrection power. Now I cam worship God as my father being born again by the Spirit; thank you for my redemption. Now serve I the living God in Jesus name.

GOD IS A SPIRIT

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:20-22.

About the time of my graduation from Med school came news from some of our brethren that have left school. “The music is good, the place is cozy, a lot of young people attend, some celebrities could be seated next to you. The sound is superb, the preaching gets you out of your seat and shouting, it’s a cool place to be” That was a report from the field, a new congregation in town. So everyone who went to town checked it out, it was better than described. Just one caveat, a place to belong, not a place to be saved & made alive to God.

Salvation is the prerequisite to true worship; only those who are alive in spirit connect to the father of Spirits. In Adam all died, without a salvation encounter, life cannot count in God. Without a definite salvation experience, you’re a number, not a member. When were you saved? Or just attending church. Questions begging for answers

“Ye worship ye know not what:we know what we worship:for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit:and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”John 4:22-24.

Without salvation, we are dead in sins and music becomes noise. Every son of Adam is spiritually dead, disconnected from the life and nature of God. Resurrection connects the spiritually dead and physically alive to the father of Spirits. It’s a tragedy to be in church but not in touch, after a while it becomes the norm and the thought that everyone is the same. Worshipping God is not spiritual, it’s for living human spirits. God is a Spirit, worshipped by men who have his spirit; not men on suits. It takes more than good suits, sound, music, dance, comedy, panache to worship.

Resurrection power give life to dead human spirits to be in touch with God, not just in church. Only those that are raised from the dead worship God in spirit and truth.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10.

Prayer: Dear father of Spirits, I thank you for the resurrection power in Christ Jesus. I am raised from death in Adam to life in Christ. Now can I worship in spirit and truth. Thank you again and again in Jesus name.

CROSSING THE IDOLS

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:18-19.

As a young boy growing up in the village, I witnessed the worship of idols. We know what the other person worshipped, it’s interesting to list their object of worship. A few scrap metals left to rust under a shade built by the worshiper, a mound of earth built like a mini anthill or the shape of a man or woman, snakes or……. These are some symbols and monuments that are readily visible. Their devotion and worship is shown by the fresh layer of blood usually from a chicken splashed on this sculpture. We were warned of going to the houses of such persons or eating anything there.

This was the idea of idolatry that many are accustomed to. The worship of the things like stone, iron, bottles, cloth created by man instead of the creator of all things.

“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what:we know what we worship:for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” John 4:21-23.

Many still serve idols against popular opinion; there are more idols today than was previously thought. It’s the worship of persons, things, places and patterns without apparent benefit. The things now range from toys, money, sports, pets, persons or even Apps; there is much to chose from. Many derive satisfaction, fellowship, counsel & spend time, fortune on these. money on It’s their ambition, desire, what to live for and die for. Now you understand that they worship, they know not what.

Salvation is the first connection to true worship of God. Man desires to worship something or someone, God seeks worship. The cross of Christ is the connection between man’s desire and God’s will. it’s time to cross the idols.

“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15.

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for making a way for us to worship you in spirit and truth. Thank you for crossing the idols to serve God. I am connected to life in Jesus name.

TRUE WORSHIP

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what:we know what we worship:for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 4:21-23.

The desire to worship is as old as man. Several monuments and symbols have been erected and abandoned in the process. Several people still worship what they know not, passed down from past generations.

Worship is personal, the location or monument is notwithstanding. As God is seeking for true worshipper, men are seeking for how to worship God in truth. Without a spiritual connection, men cannot worship and without worship, life is empty. The cross bridges the gap and connects man to God for true worship. Only those that are saved can worship God in spirit and truth. Jesus died for all to connect and worship the God of our salvation.

“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”2 Corinthians 5:14-15.

One was asked why there is a cross conspicuously located in the church. He answered that it’s a reminder that one died for all to worship God. He also said it is our ticket to spiritual and truthful worship. Worship begins when Christ is received and a new life is released. The natural man cannot worship God neither on the mountain or in the temple. Only those that died with Christ and rose with him can worship like him.

Worship is personal, your location notwithstanding! Worship is not convenient, it’s commandment to those that are connected. We are saved from worshipping what we know not to true worship. I do not worship the cross, but him that died and rose again from the dead. The dead are raised, the spiritually dead are made alive by Christ to worship the living God.

“For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”1 Thessalonians 1:9-10.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for giving me the opportunity in Christ Jesus to worship in spirit and truth. I am redeemed from idols to serve the living God. Thank you for being a worshipper of the living God.

TICKET TO TRUE WORSHIP.

Worship is personal, God relates with us as individuals not groups. Even in a congregational service, we worship differently, as we connect personally. Someone has alluded to this like the cell phone, only those with a active sim card is allowed to connect to a service provider and access the network. Without a system identification module,a phone is as good as useless. God seeks to be worshipped in spirit and in truth by those who are connected to him.

Salvation is the prerequisite for true spiritual worship. By redemption, the spirit of man comes alive and becomes connected to God. Until this connection, worship cannot begin.

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” John 3:5-7.

We are all familiar with our birthday and natural milestones in life. Being born again is the switch from natural living to supernatural lifestyle. It is the birth of a new heart and spirit that is alive and yielded to God. Salvation is the conversion of flesh to spirit or mortal to spiritual man. The cross of Christ blots out sin and gives new life by redemption power.

It is the grand entrance into the kingdom of God and connection of a new human spirit to the holy spirit. Worship becomes possible from this time onward; saved to worship God in spirit & truth. Without spiritual connection of salvation, worship connection is impossible. The tragedy of going to church and not being in touch is terminated. New birth therefore is the ticket to true worship in Christ.

Prayer: Dear father of Spirits, you desire worshippers in spirit and truth. And has made a way by the death and resurrection of Christ. Thank you for being counted as a true worshipper by salvation in Jesus name.

MONUMENTS AND SYMBOLS

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, to the unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Acts 17:23-24.

Every casual traveller through a city or town is aware of its sights & sounds. City centres are favourite spots to see a monument or a sculpture. These sculptures maybe of great men, conquerors or portraying the ideology of the city. Some of these sculptures maybe part of the devotions, beliefs or religious worship of the people. When such monuments are part of devotions or worship it becomes more symbolic. What is the monument of Christ? What’s the high point of true worship? The unknown God has monuments, sculptures &symbols of men, animals or created things instead of the creator.

It is the worship of God without salvation, venerating the dead or buried for the living.

“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what:we know what we worship:for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”John 4:21-23.

Worship of the unknown God ends at the grave, monument or symbol of the dead. True worship begins with salvation or connection to the living God. The unknown God is hereby revealed by resurrection of the dead. The accurate information about life, death, grave, hell and heaven is known. The firstborn from the dead is the way, the truth and life. Salvation gives access to true worship; we know what we worship! Christ did not come to give religion, he came to grant resurrection &life.

The resurrection is the monument and symbol of Christ and his believers. Everyone that believes in him that died and rose from the dead is saved. It’s your turn to take the first step to true worship; salvation. Its simply accepting, believing and confessing him that died and rose again.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”Romans 10:9-10.

Prayer: Father you’re the true and living God revealed by your son Jesus Christ by his resurrection and life. Let every worshipper of the unknown God come to the light of salvation in Jesus name.

FAITH CONNECTION

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 2 Corinthians 4:13-14.

Resurrection began with Christ and has continued since then till today. Resurrection is not past, it has began and continues. Jesus is first, you are the next in line to be raised. Resurrection is by faith, the spirit of faith releases the power of resurrection into your life. Faith comes by hearing of the resurrection of Jesus as it is written and believing in him that raised Jesus; the spirit of faith releases your personal resurrection experience.

While its wonderful to celebrate the resurrection of Christ as the first, it’s actually your resurrection that calls for celebration. Everyone and everything that hear, believe and speak of him that raised Christ from the dead is raised also. Salvation is the first experience of the power of resurrection, it is the first experience but not the only access to being raised. Everyday is an opportunity to have a resurrection experience.

Today is someone’s day to be raised! It’s amazing to know that it’s very simple as A, B C. It begins with admission or acceptance that Jesus is lord of the dead and living; the resurrection and life. Then believe in your heart that he died and that God raised him from the dead. Finally confessing him or speaking what believed with your mouth. That is the simple procedure that connects you to the resurrection power for salvation, healing, deliverance, breakthrough and miracles. Jesus was raised instantaneously, not gradually, so also you shall be raised.

The spirit of faith is at work for sudden turnaround in your life. The resurrection power changes things suddenly, instantly.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”Ephesians 2:4-6.

Prayer: My dear father, thank you for making me a partaker of the resurrection. I believe in the resurrection of Christ and speak for salvation. The power of resurrection is continually released for instant results in my life in Jesus name.
