Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11.
One of the common things among different armies is their dressing type. Air force, navy and artillery soldiers are easily identified by their outfit. They’re given some privileges just for wearing the uniforms. The same uniforms identify them at war and bears their rank and country of service. They’re dressed to kill with weapons of war as their ammunition. The weapons have developed and advanced that they need regular training to keep pace with new weapons.
Spiritual warfare also has its attire and weapons of warfare. Just as the army do not go to war without their appropriate uniforms neither can you go into spiritual warfare without the right attire. What to put on matters, one is dressed to kill, another is dressed to stand with the whole armour of God
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”2 Corinthians 10:4-6.
The armour is an essential piece of warfare equipment both for defence and offence. Fighting is a must, warfare is not by choice, dressing to stand a necessity for living. Without the armour, victims abound, victors are dressed to stand as a lifestyle.
If those on a carnal combat need an armour, how much more those at spiritual war. It’s a six piece suit of spiritual warfare, none ought to be absent or missing.
Standing or falling is not only a function of the type of attire but understanding of the use of the weapons of our warfare. There is a commandment to stand against the wiles of the devil but not without the armour of God. The armour of God is a prerequisite to stand; you shall not fall!
“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”Ephesians 6:14-17.
Dear Father I am thankful that you have given me a commandment to stand in the combat of life as the heritage and reward of redemption. You have also equipped us with the armour of God as the weapon of life. My joy knows no bounds in Jesus name.
