Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16.

Never negotiate when hungry! This is an advice that’s rooted in the covenant of blessing. Maybe the story of Esau comes to mind when this statement is made.

God has a plan for you, the covenant is not convenient but the platform for generational greatness. At the crossroads of life many make the wrong decision in life. The covenant begins with an encounter with the word of God. What is the word of God saying about the current step about to be taken. Hearing from God is one of the great asset of everyone that must walk with God in the covenant. Every decision that’s made without instructions is a error. Many have gone into captivity going south instead of north. The covenant is the old paths and the good ways of life.

“And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:”Genesis 26:1-2.

There’s always an option of choice between going south or north. Even in famine, destitution and as a refugee, Isaac had a choice to make. The word of God to him is clear,” Go not down into Egypt” The covenant begins between God and man when the word is given. One word from God is all it takes to have a permanent change of story to glory.

Crossroads are sure, the covenant is surer for a hundredfold return. Your future is not a guess, in the covenant of blessing. Life does not have to be a lesson but a blessing by the covenant.

Every decision made on the basis of the word of God bring you closer to the good land prepared for you. It doesn’t take time, it takes the covenant; your not going down but up!

“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.”Deuteronomy 28:2-5.

Prayer: Dear father, I just learnt that blessing is the fruit of obedience to your word. Open my ears to hear at every crossroad of life from your word. My future is sure in Jesus name.
