Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds ‘feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments. Habakkuk 3:17-19.
The pictures from this scripture above is a tale of woes. The depiction of tragedy, how more terrible could it be? Joy is the least of the response in such situations. Some could opine that it’s actually hypocrisy to expect joy in such circumstances. Unfortunately, that’s not my suggestion, the heart will pour out whatever is within.
Instead of joy many know how to play the blame game with God; thats their choice. The prophet says “I will rejoice” reiterating again he says “I will joy”. Simply said, joy is a choice!so what is your choice in the face of the challenge. What comes out in the time of adversity is the true picture of your personality.
Make joy your fence and defence.
“The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.”Joel 1:12
Every time joy is lacking, a breakdown is certain. Sadness stifles productivity, the trees represent long standing productive channels which includes businesses, careers and profession. When joy dries up, everything of value dries up and dies.
Joy flows like a river that even circumstances and situation come, they pass without displacing it. Every challenge is a tipping point to change, joy is a necessity to make change happen. Joy terminates the dry seasons of life and turns things around to fruitfulness. The river of joy turns the desert places to fruitful forests.
Tragedies are turned to opportunities with limitless possibilities. What has been lost is recovered while rejoicing; joy is the turnaround moment, make joy your choice.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:2-3.
Thank you father for the turnaround power of joy, the desert places become fruitful forests by rejoicing. I draw joy today from the wells of salvation in Jesus name.
