And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days:but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings. Exodus 10:22-23.
The requirements for sight is possession of eyes and presence of light. In darkness, everyone is officially blind; I can’t see a thing!
Light is the universal necessity for sight, vision and direction. No matter how good your sight is, darkness obscures vision & direction. No matter how great your intellect or knowledge, without light, you’re learning is useless.
That was the situation in Egypt when the plague of darkness was unleashed. Everything and everyone was stranded even with their sophistication. The same is happening today, those expected to be wise become fools in the face of darkness. Foolishness becomes a virtue in darkness. There is no distinction nor discernment in darkness.
Can you see? What can you see?
The year is blank without the light from the son of God.
“Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:78-79.
Illumination is the si-ne qua non to vision and perception. In darkness we all look but not see; when you can’t see what God has for this year, you’re legally blind.
The day star is key to seeing eyes; it’s always day when the day star arises. Darkness is the curse and cause of blindness, the day star is the blessing of light converting your looking to seeing eyes by encounter with the day star.
Everyday becomes a great day when the day star arises in your heart. You’re not blind my friend, it’s just that the light from the son is unavailable.to you. Jeremiah began to see when light from the word of God came to him.
“Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen:for I will hasten my word to perform it. And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.” Jeremiah 1:11-13.
Prayer; My father, thank you for giving me a new year experience. The visIon and direction is also your gift. May light from your word illuminate my heart to you plans and purposes for the new year. I receive visIon & directions from your word today in Jesus name.
