And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. Genesis 39:2-3.
This verse is one of the contradictions of scripture which can only be explained by the covenant. How a slave became prosperous in his masters house in another country, think about it. It’s on record that anything and everything belonging to a slave is for his master.
This principle is often used as a talking point, the blessing is not on things but on persons. When some persons come into your life, you make rapid progress, go forward and become greater and also vice versa; they are blessed. Everything and anything under the care of a blessed person prospers. Potiphar took note of the blessing on Joseph and placed more things under his care.
Are you blessed, a blessing or marked to be blessed?
“And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him:and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.” Genesis 39:4-5
You’re blessed irrespective of status or profession; the blessing is transferable. The profession is not the blessing neither the location but a God given ability that turns every opportunity to an avenue for prosperity. It’s empowerment to prosper irrespective of status, standing or situation.
The covenant brings the presence of God into the narrative so much that things work. The blessing on persons are transferred to the work of their hands. You cannot be blessed and it does not show in all round success & results. The covenant is your ticket to prosper, succeed be blessed, excel and become very great.
You’re empowered to prosper even as a slave, servant, master; status notwithstanding, the spirit of Joseph is at work.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:1-3.
Thank you father for the covenant which is your presence at work. We are programmed to prosper, increase, multiply and become very great even as a slave. The blessing is explicitly manifest in Jesus name.
