THE SPIRIT OF JOSEPH.

And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. Genesis 39:2-3.

This verse is one of the contradictions of scripture which can only be explained by the covenant. How a slave became prosperous in his masters house in another country, think about it. It’s on record that anything and everything belonging to a slave is for his master.

This principle is often used as a talking point, the blessing is not on things but on persons. When some persons come into your life, you make rapid progress, go forward and become greater and also vice versa; they are blessed. Everything and anything under the care of a blessed person prospers. Potiphar took note of the blessing on Joseph and placed more things under his care.

Are you blessed, a blessing or marked to be blessed?

And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him:and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.” Genesis 39:4-5

You’re blessed irrespective of status or profession; the blessing is transferable. The profession is not the blessing neither the location but a God given ability that turns every opportunity to an avenue for prosperity. It’s empowerment to prosper irrespective of status, standing or situation.

The covenant brings the presence of God into the narrative so much that things work. The blessing on persons are transferred to the work of their hands. You cannot be blessed and it does not show in all round success & results. The covenant is your ticket to prosper, succeed be blessed, excel and become very great.
You’re empowered to prosper even as a slave, servant, master; status notwithstanding, the spirit of Joseph is at work.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalms 1:1-3.
Prayer:
Thank you father for the covenant which is your presence at work. We are programmed to prosper, increase, multiply and become very great even as a slave. The blessing is explicitly manifest in Jesus name.

PROSPER!!!

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:1-3.

Prosper is a verb according to the dictionary but I knew it first as a noun. I have great cousin and a good friend that bears the name. It’s a prayer and a desire to succeed, grow, multiply, increase and become great. When I understood the meaning of the name, I was appreciative of the givers of the name.

Blessing literally means to be empowered to prosper, grow, increase and multiply. To prosper in everything is the evidence or proof of the blessing The blessing empowers to prosper anything and everything anywhere. There is therefore no choice profession but blessing on whatsoever you do.

“And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.”Genesis 39:2-3.

Isaac was the least likely to prosper as a refugee, Joseph was a slave. The blessing was on whatsoever they did. The Job or profession is not the blessing, blessing is by the covenant word. There are both poor and prosperous Doctors, lawyers, engineers and every other profession. Joseph was a prosperous slave and a great asset to the Egyptian master. Isaac was a prosperous refugee, so also Nehemiah, Daniel and several others too numerous to mention from scriptures.

Your profession notwithstanding, you’re empowered to prosper. May this covenant proof become your name and experience; prosper!

“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.”Deuteronomy 28:2-4.

Prayer: Thank you father for the blessing that empowers to prosper whatsoever and whosoever is connected to you. I am empowered to prosper in anything my hand finds to do today in Jesus name.

ALL ROUND BLESSING

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Deuteronomy 28:2-5.

The difference between wealthy and blessed has never been better explained than in these verses. Wealthy is all about money as the measure of wealth. Blessed is being wealthy in every area of life and to God. Health is wealth, there are things money can buy and several things money cannot buy. Wealth is affordable, blessing is not.

Blessing affect everything and anything in and around you, that’s the difference. While some go after wealth, blessing overtake another in every area of their life.

And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age:and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.”Genesis 24:1.

It’s interesting to know that everything you do is blessed. Blessed in the city, blessed at work & academics, blessed working in the field, blessed children, blessed businesses, blessed bank accounts; all round blessing. Blessing affects everything and anything, it overwhelms and overtakes.

The blessing takes control of every area of life. Isn’t it amazing to be blessed? Just like your father Abraham. There’s nothing better or comparable to a blessing. If it does not affect everything about you or yours, it’s not a blessing. The covenant of blessing is not of interest in one or some parts of your person or purpose. It goes viral, overtakes and overwhelms you in every part. Isn’t it better to be blessed?

Get set for all round blessing.

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”Deuteronomy 28:1-2.

Prayer : Dear father and God, it’s amazing that the blessing is not restrictive, it overwhelms the blessed. I am blessed in everything, everywhere in Jesus name.

Going up, not down.

Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16.

Never negotiate when hungry! This is an advice that’s rooted in the covenant of blessing. May be the story of Esau comes to mind when this statement is made. God has a plan for you, the covenant is not convenient but the platform for generational greatness. At the crossroads of life many make the wrong decision in life. The covenant begins with an encounter with the word of God. What is the word of God saying about the current step about to be taken.

Hearing from God is one of the great asset of everyone that must walk with God in the covenant. Every decision that’s made without instructions is a error. Many have gone into captivity going south instead of north. The covenant is the old paths and the good ways of life.

“And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:”Genesis 26:1-2.

There’s always an option of choice between going south or north. Even in famine, destitution and as a refugee, Isaac had a choice to make. The word of God to him is clear,” Go not down into Egypt”

The covenant begins between God and man when the word is given. One word from God is all it takes to have a permanent change of story to glory. Crossroads are sure, the covenant is surer for a hundredfold return. Your future is not a guess, in the covenant of blessing. Life does not have to be a lesson but a blessing by the covenant.

Every decision made on the basis of the word of God bring you closer to the good land prepared for you. It doesn’t take time, it takes the covenant; your not going down but up!

“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.”Deuteronomy 28:2-5.

Prayer: Dear father, I just learnt that blessing is the fruit of obedience to your word. Open my ears to hear at every crossroad of life from your word. My future is sure in Jesus name.

Turning Refugees to Celebrities

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Gen 26:1-2.

One of the reasons for migration is lack of food, drought or famine in a particular location. Dry season is synonymous with scarcity lack and want, this determines the migration pattern in some parts of the world.

Isaac was on the move like many others before him, the norm rather than the exception. He arrived Gerar unannounced, a refugee, enroute Egypt. The men of Gerar would have looked at Isaac as the least likely to succeed. Yet, as a refugee with a covenant at work, he worked with God. Instead of going down to Egypt he was guided to stay back in Gerar.

The covenant guarantees sudden change of status, with a one year timeline for unusual results. The covenant is the template to grow, increase multiply, go forward, become great all at once. The covenant works irrespective of status, it turns refugee to celebrity. The covenant keeping God does not change your level once and for all but once and again.

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.” Gen 26:12-14.

It’s unfortunate that some persons have thought that being disadvantaged in a community is a limitation to their success and greatness. The people of Gerar mocked Isaac for thinking of sowing in a dry land. They knew the terrain too well to even try something new. He was not sowing his seed by the environmental timing but by covenant instructions. Show me your results from studying Agriculture and Entrepreneurship and I will show you what the covenant keeping God has wrought by his word. A comparison of notes will help your recollection.

A refugee became a celebrity in the land of sojourn by the covenant in just one year. A quick check reveals that all the covenant fathers were refugees at one time or another. The king of Gerar led the delegation to beg Isaac to go for being greater than the land of Gerar put together. One man, a refugee became greater than a nation by the covenant of blessing. I will not be surprised at your sudden change of status by the covenant; men like nations from refugees.

Walk by the covenant! Greatness is my heritage by the covenant.

“And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.” Gen 26:16-17.

PRAYER: Dear father God, it is with pleasure that you show off your masterpiece of change of status by the covenant. Refugees are turned to nations by your hand in just one year. Unusual results is my heritage by the covenant in Jesus name.

Blessed Beyond The Curse

“And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.”Genesis 4:10-12.

One of the foundational covenant pillars is respect for human life. The covenant is ratified by blood, curses are provoked by bloodshed. I am wary of the killing of innocent persons under any guise, it poisons the earth and provoke curses. If that could happen to a man, much more to a nation.

Bloodshed provokes a covenant of blessing or a curse. The death of Christ on the cross terminate curses for the release of blessing. We’re created for a blessing, and blessed by God; the blessing is provoked, so also curses. Just as disobedience provoke curses, obedience to the word of God commands blessing. The earth is a witness of the blessing or curses and responds appropriately.

O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days:for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.”Jeremiah 22:29-30.

I sometimes wonder why there are prosperous and poor kings. With the armament of state resources many leaders should be prosperous. A curse is a “leveller” destroyer of prosperity, it has no respect of status. The earth reacts against everyone or everything that is cursed, irrespective of location. It’s amazing that in the midst of affluence, the curse is still at work. Status does not confer a blessing, obedience of the covenant grants the blessing.

The blessing makes all the difference between prosperity and poverty not just the presence or absence of money. The blessing is personal, so also the curse. Redemption is disconnection from curses and connection to the blessing. Blessing is by choice, it’s not automatic but provoked by obedience.

Curses are real! So also the blessing, I am blessed beyond the curse.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”Galatians 3:13-14.

PRAYER: Dear father, it’s good to know that I am not under the reign of curses but blessing. Cursed is the one that died on the tree for the release of blessing. I am blessed beyond the curse in Jesus name.

Blessed first

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28.

The first thing bestowed on man soon after creation is the blessing. That gives credence to the import of being blessed in life and having blessing first.
It’s imperative that blessing has only one unique source and that is God.

Man is blessed before receiving his assignment on the earth. Blessing is empowerment to prosper, increase, multiply, grow and dominate. You’re not blessed by what you have or have not but by the word of God. The word of God says “Be fruitful and multiply” that is not a suggestion but a commandment.

Many are not fruitful nor do they multiply being disconnected from the source of blessing.
This commandment does not require a conducive atmosphere nor is limited by political correctness.

I think that one of the travesties in this generation is poverty in spite of politically correctness.
Prosperity does not have political affiliation neither poverty. I was gleefully informed by a close friend and relative that he has prospered the most under the most economically naive government in town.

This I have always believed that austerity is opportunity for prosperity by the covenant. The covenant blessing is beyond economics, politics, profession, location, gender, race and ethnicity.
The blessing is validated even in drought, famine, economic bust and scarcity.
The blessing is not in Dollars neither is poverty in Naira, the blessed are the best everywhere and anywhere; be blessed first.

PRAYER:
Dear father, it’s so pleasant to know that I am blessed, not by anything I have done but by your design and desire. I am blessed anywhere and everywhere in Jesus name.

GENERATION NEXT

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:2-3

Every mention Of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, is a reminder of the faithfulness of God by the covenant from of old. Some others are reminded of the emergence of new testament Abrahams, Isaacs and Jacobs after the same order. It’s the same God, the same covenant and the same faithfulness.

The generational impact of the covenant is undeniable with seed being greater than their progenitor. The covenant order is that children become greater than the forbears and not vice versa. This may not be the natural order as the children of the great are not always as great as their father. The great names from history maybe the last person of his stature in his generation.

Greatness is not heritable, the covenant of blessing confers generational greatness.

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” Malachi 4:1-2

It’s even appalling that some children become unworthy of their fathers and generations. The heat is on, the proud and arrogant have become stubble, their glory are turned into shame. Their greatness cannot be transferred to the next generation.
Kings rise to fall, dynasties reign to be taken captive, the children of the great are found in low places while the children of the lowly and humble parents become great.

The covenant is the only platform for generational impact and influence. The God do Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is still at work today. From three generations of Abraham to all generation of mankind, the same covenant is at work.

The next generation of greats are covenant keepers ; the ticket to true greatness. Next generation indeed.

The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.”Genesis 49:26.

PRAYER:
Thank you my father for giving us a platform for greatness for both the father and their seed after them. I am the seed of Abraham, greatness is my heritage in Christ. The blessing is my master key to generational greatness in Jesus name.

BLESSING FOLLOW ME

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” Hebrews 8:6.

I am always embarrassed when I hear someone say that I should bless him. It gives credence to the fact that they don’t know the meaning of a blessing, do you? This may seem odd until you hear the answers given by others. To a politician, winning an election is a blessing, and a lottery win is a blessing to a gambler. A drunkard craves for alcoholic beverage and to an addict abundant supply is a blessing.

So what is a blessing in your own words?
Begging for a blessing? Anything for the boys?

A prayer does not translate to a blessing except God is involved. Blessing has only one source, God is, and heaven the abode of the package. A gift does not qualify for a blessing neither a tip nor begging for handouts. A blessing changes your status and announces your story with heavenly mobility.

Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”James 1:16-17.

As humorously said, blessings are from above not from abroad; my usual response. If God does not give it, you cannot have it, no matter the effort. It’s a gift, obtained by receivement, it’s not an achievement. You can’t fake it, you either have it or you don’t have it. It’s a reward for faithfulness, a walk with God evidenced by good works.

The covenant proof is the gift of blessings which is undeniable. Every genuine connection with the God of our fathers by the covenant leads to sworn blessing. It’s good, perfect, abundant, beyond imagination, above comprehension, mind boggling release of heavenly virtues. It is a seed growing into a tree, bearing fruits to become a great forest and an envy and still bearing fruits to many generations.

All of this in a very short while.

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:”Genesis 26:12-13

PRAYER:

Thank you dear father for the transforming power of the covenant through the blessing of God. Heavens signature of blessing is my heritage by the covenant in Jesus name.
