The Babe Wrapped In Swaddling Clothes

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:11-14.

One of the common sight on social media is the pictures of newborn babies. These pictures are trendy for some reasons. It’s also common to see babies swaddled in a particular fabric which usually represents a particular country of birth. It’s a thing of pride for some person to have their baby in this foreign country. This is especially so for those from developing countries like ours. This place of birth gives access to foreign citizenship under the guise of obtaining better medical care during delivery.

The cost is worthwhile to some persons and outrageous to others. Where were you born? What was used to swaddle you as a baby? The place of birth cannot guarantee or preclude greatness. The greatest was born in a manger, surrounded by nature and animals. The name of your hospital of birth does not infuse greatness into your destiny.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6.

Swaddling is now a recognized method of comfort care and pain relief. Born in a manger in the city of David is Christ the saviour of the world. A lowly birth, a refugee status was the king of kings and Lord of lords. Announced by the heavenly host, worshipped by angels and visited by shepherds. Some have considered the nativity of Christ as a fairy tale but fortunately true; a king is born.

Your birth place may grant you citizenship of a country but encounter with Christ grants citizenship of heaven. The saviour is born, heaven is now accessible to everyone that believes in him. The salvation prepared for all is the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.  The creator determines your status irrespective of your size or stage of life.

“Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.”Luke 2:28-32.

Prayer
Thank you dear father for the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes which is the saviour and lord Jesus Christ. Heaven has come down to the earth for mortals to have access through the same Jesus Christ.

THE GIFT OF SALVATION

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:11-14.

In a world of superheroes, superman and fierce looking avatars, many wonder how the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes fit into the picture. Over several generations, superheroes have come and gone.
The history books are replete with stories of fierce looking warriors that have walked the face of the earth before and after Christ. Not one of them is honoured or remembered as Jesus Christ the lord.

These were great men and women of valour, but non of them is the saviour of the world. The saviour is born, great sages are made. Salvation is not a byproduct of strength, skill and warfare; it is the gift of God.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17.

Everyone born of a woman, sage, hero, superhero or warrior is in need of salvation. Jesus is the gift of God for the salvation of men irrespective of their status. When a saviour is born, salvation is sure to be given. This is the greatest need of man, whether great or small.

Everyone born of a woman is born in sin and in need of a saviour. Jesus was born to save the world from the law of sin and death. There are enough superheroes, warriors and supermen in the world today.
If the world needed more, God would have sent more.
What the world never had, God sent in his son; a saviour, the gift of salvation.

Prayer
Dear Father, forgive me for seeking a superhero, a warrior and a superman instead of a saviour. Thank you for meeting my needs by sending your son and saviour Jesus Christ.

A SAVIOUR IS BORN!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

The birth of a child is a happy event and usually announced with great joy. Every child born of a woman has a birthday, synchronous with his a date of birth. December 25 is obviously not the date of birth of Jesus but a day to celebrate his birth. Everyone is born for a reason and for a purpose. He was born, begotten of God, as the saviour of the world.

Do you know your birthday? Natural and spiritual. The first birthday is easy, the second is for them that have become sons of God. It’s an encounter with Jesus Christ, a new birth and a new life

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”John 1:12-13.

A child is born, a son is given with the government upon his shoulder. The government of the kingdom of God is upon his shoulder. This is a new order, a new kingdom, a community of sons of God in manifestation. We’re not born to belong to the world, we are born into another kingdom.

The birth of Jesus is the beginning of a new kingdom with the government upon his shoulder. God is in control and the sons are in charge. We celebrate his birth, and also our connection to him by redemption.
To us a child is born, sonship is given; the kingdom of God is agog with celebration for the first begotten of God. The same celebration continues for everyone begotten of God, a saviour is born.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”Luke 2:11-12.

Prayer
Thank you heavenly father for the gift of a saviour. The government of the kingdom is upon his shoulder, turning the world to the kingdom of God. From one son and saviour many sons & saviours are born through the same Jesus Christ.

SONS AND SAVIOURS

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17.

One of the things I loved and enjoyed as a child was to sing and dance. Music was civil, not so many offensive lyrics so we could listen and learn them. One of the music I learnt and loved to sing was-
“Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire universe. There are people dying and if you care enough for the living, make a better place for you and for me.

I guess you know the song, the songwriter and the singers. To make the world a better place is a global and personal desire. No one loves the world better than her maker and creator.
His desire was not just a better world but a renewed and saved world fit for the redeemed. The sons of God are the saviours of the world.

“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.” Romans 8:19-21.

The desire for a better world continues and is discussed intently at various meetings, conferences and seminars. It’s topical particularly among environmental activist and the like. God gave his son to save the world, what are you giving up to make the world a better place. God has exceeded expectations by giving us his love in his son as recipe for saving the world.

The love of God does not just change things but changes people who change everything. Redemption changes the world one person at a time. The redeemed are not just champions or change makers but they are saviours.
It’s time to move from wishes to receiving the gift of God to you. The sons are saviours of the world.

“And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord ‘s.”Obadiah 1:21.

Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for the gift of the saviour and son Jesus Christ. Much more than making the world a better, he is the saviour of my soul. I receive the new life he gives in Jesus name.

CREATED FOR THIS

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:26-27.

Man was created by God after his likeness an in his image. We are not created by chance but by choice.
After everything required by man was made, God made man as undertaker and overseer of his creation. The fall of man was the beginning of corruption of the earth, the recovery of the earth begins with the redemption of man.

The earth is programmed to be run, dominated and populated by man not angels. Every man or woman connected to God is the son of God. The first Adam was the son of God, Jesus Christ is the last Adam.
For this reason were we created to become sons of God.

Every son of God hears the voice of his father to be in charge of the earth. The creature is at the mercy of the sons and the sons are connected to the father. The father is in control but the sons are in charge. As soon as the son looses contact with the father, direction and destination is lost.

Creation suffers, corruption becomes the norm until the sons take their place. The whole world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Redemption is return to the Father’s house, it’s also taking your place in heaven and on the earth.
The gate to the Father’s house is always open day and night, he awaits your return.

“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son:make me as one of thy hired servants.”Luke 15:17-19.

Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for creating me for the highest purpose. The earth is waiting my manifestation, heaven rejoices at my return. My joy knows no bounds in Jesus name.

I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Romans 8:19-21.

Waiting is not easy, neither hoping that something happens. The father has been waiting for the manifestation of his sons on the earth. The emergence of the sons of God is his biggest wish, his greatest desire. Imagine the anguish, pain and wonder of not having own children. The whole creature is in turmoil, there’s uneasy calm as the wait continues.

The father is in control but the sons are in charge of things in heaven and on earth. When the sons take charge, things are made to happen. God awaits the birth and adoption of his sons on the earth. The son’s assignment is to deliver the earth from the bondage of corruption.
The rising sons restore the original intent of creation.

“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son:make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. “Luke 15:18-20.

There’s no better place than the father’s house. Even the portion of servants is enviable and the sons are always home. The return, birth and adoption of sons are treated alike. A red carpet is rolled out, a ring for confirmation, the robe of salvation.

The father loves his sons, he has given the sacrifice of Jesus to have many sons. The father has been waiting too long to show them his love and life. While we were a great way off, the father saw you and me as sons not servants.
Your place as a son is reserved, your robe of salvation is preserved awaiting your return.
On that day you will surely hear “I’ve been waiting for you”.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”John 3:16-17.

Prayer
Dear Father, now I know the unconditional love that you have for me.that love has been waiting for me since the foundation of the world. Thank you for counting us worthy to be sons, not servants in Jesus name.

SONS AND SERVANTS

I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son:make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. Luke 15:18-20.

It’s apparent from the foregoing that the father has both sons and servants. The servants do not play the role of sons and vice versa. Sons have their place so also do the servants have their position.

The reward of sons is the heritage of the father while the servants have reward for their service. The son was sorry for demeaning himself and begged to be a servant but the father would not hear any of it. The prodigal alluded to the fact that the servants have enough to eat in the kingdom of God while scarcity and lack beckons outside the kingdom.
The question that have been asked is who are the servants in the kingdom of God?

“For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.”Hebrews 1:5-6.

It’s important to note that redemption leads to the birth of sons not angels The position of sons is many times higher and better than that of angels. Angels are kingdom servants to the heirs of salvation or the sons of God. When I hear some persons talk about being an angel of God, it’s amusing to say the least.

They know not who they are! A son is the heir of the father not a servant. Your position determines your portion and your heritage determines inheritance. Every bonafide son of God has angels at his service to accomplish life assignments.
When they speak the word of God, their angels are empowered to act.

“But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”Hebrews 1:13-14.

Prayer:
Dear Father thank you for showing me from your word that I am a son not a servant. I have the heritage of sons, I cannot operate in the position of servant. Angels are heavenly servants at my service to accomplish life assignment in Jesus name.

BELOVED

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:1-2

What manner of love does God have for his children?
One question but many answers as several adjectives are being used to describe the love of God.
Extravagant, exceeding, great, eternal, abundant, everlasting and the list continues. Daddy loves his kids, they are his beloved children. It’s obvious that the love of God is much more than the love of man.

The love of God changes man’s nature and stature to the beloved. This is irrespective of the background, race, ethnicity, gender and religion. Everyone is qualified to become the son and the love of God.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”John 3:16-17.

God’s kind of love gave his son in exchange for my sins. Many are yet to comprehend the love of God for the world. Jesus Christ is the gift of love for men to receive the gift sonship. Sons are born by accepting the gift of the love of God. Everyone that believes becomes the son of love and beloved of God. The sons are called, forgiven, cleansed and chosen to become God’s favourite.
Isn’t it time to be counted among those beloved of God?
There is no better nature or status in God than to be beloved of God. Love is the signature of God, sons are the product of his love.
This is the reason for living, to be always accepted in the beloved.

“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”Ephesians 1:5-6.

Prayer
Dear heavenly father, it is beautiful to learn that the sons are the beloved of God. That is the manner of love the father has bestowed on us. We are indeed beloved of God by redemption, thank you for your exceeding great love through Jesus Christ.

FORGIVEN

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:1-2.

The father loves his children, they are his beloved. He has given them the greatest privilege to be sons of God. There is no greater honour than to be the son of the Almighty God.

The practice of charity is one of the norms of persons or groups from developed societies. Medicines, clothes, food and many other necessities are given out in the process. These gestures are interpreted as love for the people and nations that are beneficiaries. While the care is undeniable, the manner of love by the father exceeds expectations.
God’s love is not in the same class with the charity of men or the best intention of nations. The best is for the sons and the left over for the servants.

“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son:make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.”Luke 15:18-20.

One may ask for the proof of the love of God and the answer is simple. The sons are forgiven of all their sin by the gift of Jesus Christ. The application to become a servant is turned down, sins are forgiven.

Redemption is not for man’s reduction but for his elevation. The sons are the beloved of God, they’re forgiven of their sins. It’s amazing to know that the love of God forgives, the most and the highest.A life wasted in riotous living, a destiny hooked on drugs and alcohol, a life wasted by disease and affliction, a murderer and a thief at their return gets the red carpet treatment.

God forgives and restores man to honour at redemption.Forgiveness gives access to the higher life of God; the sons are forgiven.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”John 3:16.

Prayer.
Father God, I am indeed delighted to know that I am forgiven and given the honour to become your own son. Thank you for access granted to the kingdom of God in Jesus name.
