THE THIEF OR THE SAVIOUR

I am the door:by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:9-10

The story of redemption is fully expressed in the verses above. The thief has the stealing, killing and destruction ministry, while the saviour is the author and giver of abundant life. Abundant life has been defined as living to the fullest both in quantity and quality.

It’s another kind of life, the life of God which is eternal or everlasting.

The thief has access to natural life, no wonder we live in a dying world. It’s atonishing when the thief is confused to the saviour, temporal for eternal and terrestrial for celestial.

The best of what the thief has to offer is not up to zero in content of abundant lifestyle.

“Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord. For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?”Jeremiah 2:12-14.

There is this mad rush to worldliness, the thief is no longer vilified. Principles of worldliness are now the shortcut, instead of Godliness. The thief is no doubt the devil, but his ways are being tried due to deception. What is stolen lacks capacity to add value, the thief always has his way.

Salvation is not an option it’s the way of escape from the thief of life. Its either you’re with the thief or you’re with the saviour; there’s no neutral position. Jesus did not come to save the neutral, he came to save the world, all of it! All you need to have all your needs met is in Christ; he is the author and fountain of abundant life, living waters.

Abundant life is not in him he is the life, the door, the way; there’s no other way. A quick check, are you with the thief or in the saviour? Your soul is under contention by a thief and a saviour.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17.

Prayer:

Thank you my father for the gift of a saviour, now know I the thief and his modes operandi. Stealing, killing and destruction ends by connection to the saviour. This is my heritage through Christ my lord.

ABUNDANT LIFE

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  John 3:16-17.

It calls to question in some minds if God’s love to the world is the same. One may wonder if the love of God for those in London, Los Angeles, Lagos and Laos is similar. This question becomes obvious judging by the difference in sociocultural economic, political and religious affinity.

On the large screens, it seems like the challenges of humanity are locale specific. It seems as if location determines the specie of challenges faced. God has the same love to all mankind as someone humorously said, one cure for all of man’s ills. Sin and death is common to all, righteousness and eternal life is his gift to all.

God’s love has no boundaries, grace has no limits, life is everlasting.

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”Romans 5:17-18.

Irrespective of location, the power of resurrection has the same effect. Natural life is one and the same, eternal life is another life. Natural life no matter how advanced cannot compare with eternal or abundant life.

An encounter with Christ turns natural to abundant life; another life. It’s abundant in quality and quantity; that is what redemption offers to all. To those that dwell in every part of the world, the same love gives rise to the same life. What civilization could not afford redemption has procured.

Jesus is the author and giver of abundant life to the world. Location is not the limitation, a relationship with Christ grants access to abundant life.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd:the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”John 10:10-11

Prayer:

Thank you father for the transforming power of your love for the world that has given us abundant life at no cost. The author and giver of another life is the reason for living. Accept our immense gratitude through the same Jesus Christ.

LIVING IN A DYING WORLD

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:13-14.

One of the posters that is uncommon today is about wanted persons, it’s common to see adverts of missing persons instead. The commonest posters or banners are usually for burials apart from political posters. It’s a dying world, the reminders are everywhere. To some death is time for celebration of life; parties for the dead are the biggest event in my part of town.

A world in need, a world in pain, grief, hungry and thirsty; a broken system. The tonic of natural life has produced different effects or influence. It’s a world in need, a world indeed.

A saviour is needed to live before dying, his greatest gift is life eternal.

Live begins with an encounter with the saviour for uncommon  lifestyle.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

Death is not a must, perishing is not for all, salvation is the escape route. Natural life is terminated by death, or access to everlasting life. Christ is the proof, author or source of eternal life. Natural living is common to everyone born of a woman, the thirst and hunger for more is real. The water of life eternal or everlasting life flows from the power of resurrection  Natural life is temporal, transient fleeting and flirting, eternal or everlasting life is durable and uncommon lifestyle.

Common life grants common results, eternal life is the ticket to extraordinary or uncommon results. Death  and perishing is no longer a must, eternal life is by choice. Christ Jesus is the ticket to life eternal!

“I am the door:by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”John 10:9-10

Prayer:

Thank you father for the gift of life by the resurrection of Christ Jesus. Death is no longer a must, eternal life is my choice by the same author of life, the lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

THE RIVER OF LIFE.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:10-13.

There are many reminders that someone once lived on the earth. It could be a book written by, for or about the person. It could also be a memorial erected in the honour of the person or the tombstone at a marked grave. At the remembrance of such person, these memorials serve as point of reference.

Jesus left a different type of memorial – an open grave; that is the greatest emblem of Christianity.

From this open grave flows an endless river of the power of resurrection. The power of resurrection turns ordinary to extraordinary living. The open grave is not just for pilgrimage but for destiny turnarounds.

Slaves, servants or subjects become sons of God by his encounter.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17.

Memorials grow old, remembrance waxes old too but not with Christ. The open grave gives life and makes old things new. Every other grave is a reminder that death is an end but his grave the reverse.

Instead of being a reminder of death,  it’s the connection to life. The river of life continues to flow to everyone connected to Christ. New life is no longer a wish but reality in Christ.

Eternal life is not a guess, it’s assured by the same person and power. The gift of the son is the sacrifice that gives access to the fullness of God. The river of life flows even today to turnaround as many that believe to become sons of God.

Christ is your right to life, your exemption from death.

“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”John 4:13-14.

Prayer:

Dear Father thank you for the power of resurrection and the river of life it gives. We have been given the right to live and not die in a dying world by the living Christ. My thanks knows no bounds in Jesus name.

SONS, NOT SERVANTS

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17.

Celebrity status is one of the great desires of many in contemporary times. Everyone is working hard to make the most of their talents, skills and competence. Creativity is at its best, depravity is also at its height in a bid to make an impression and be the first or the best. It’s not surprising when those with celebrity status become an embarrassment to even their fans and followers.

And the realization comes that they’re mere mortals just like everyone, salves to passion and in need of redemption.

Redemption reveals the status of the world; slaves, serpents or subjects. Jesus did not come to save a perfect but a needy world.

“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”John 1:10-13.

Who is the greatest slave known to you, a celebrated one indeed. The greatest slave cannot compare with the least son, their portion is determined by their status. Sin is the ticket to be born as slaves, servants or subjects in the world, righteousness liberated to sonship.

Redemption is not for man’s reduction but elevation; sudden change of status. Redemption transforms and translates slaves to sons of God. The least of the sons is greater than the celebrated slave or servant. We were born into slavery now born again into sonship with God.

Without the change of status, the portion of men cannot be changed. The servants are sons of the world, the church consists of sons of God.

Your status is now by choice, the saviour turns sons of men to sons of God.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”Romans 8:14-16.

Prayer :

Thank you father for the change of status by redemption from servant, slave or subjects to sons. It’s amazing to know that this change is not temporary but eternal in Jesus name.

LIVE BEFORE YOU DIE!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17.

One of the things I enjoyed going to primary and secondary schools are definitions. Every new concept on every subject is defined as part of the introduction. The definition was committed to memory first and later learnt and understood. Purpose defines living! It describes human existence. Without a definition, there is bound to be deviation from purpose.

Life begins with purpose, without it, there’s no reason for living. Purpose makes life worth living, it makes living worthwhile. Natural life is programmed to end in death, new life is eternally loaded. New life begin with an encounter with him that died and rose again from the dead.

Live before you die!

“For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”Romans 5:17-18.

Salvation is the gift of eternal life by Christ Jesus. Eternal life changes the course and purpose of temporal living. Those that are not born to die live life to the fullest.

The gift of life through salvation is the ticket to reign in life.

Sin and death is the foundation for a life of slavery, righteousness and life is the liberation to sonship. Slaves live in fear of punishments and death, sons reign in life. New life begins with an encounter with the lord of death, hells and the grave.

Live before you die, connect to Christ, life gets a whole new meaning. Christ gives meaning to life, he is the reason for living. This is the purpose for living; live before you die!

Prayer:

Thank you my father and God for the gift of salvation by the lord Jesus Christ that disconnect from death to life. Now have we purpose for living; from slaves, sons are born by the same Jesus Christ the Lord.

RAISED TO REIGN

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17.

One of the things I loved about the church I grew up in was the hymns. There is a hymn for every occasion, and every event. They are apt and germane though written several decades ago yet relevant to the time. The resurrection hymns were my best, like this one;

“Jesus lives! Thy terrors now. Can, O death no more appall us; Jesus lives! By this we know. Thou O grave, canst not enthrall us. Hallelujah!”

Singing it in my native tongue made so much sense to me. From birth, dying begins although growth is noted, death is the norm. Even the cells and tissues are programmed to die for growth and development by the process of  programmed cell death or apoptosis. Dying is the norm, perishing is expected; the saviour reprogrammes living.

From Adam, sin and death was the norm from Christ, righteousness and life came to light. Resurrection power is the disruption of programmed death to life eternal. Salvation is the liberation from the old to the new life The one risen from the dead cannot live a common or normal life.

Resurrection is the release from death, dying, decay to reign in life. Life just got a boost by the rising of Jesus Christ from the dead. Everyone and everything raised by him has new life as the heritage of redemption. Death, decay and dying is no longer the norm but the exception.

Normality has been abolished exceptionality is the new norm by the power of resurrection. I am raised to reign!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”2 Corinthians 5:17-18.

Prayer

Dear father, thank you for the power of resurrection that disrupts programmed death to life. I am raised to reign in life, I am no longer a slave to death in Jesus name.

THE POWER OF ONE

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17.

Many persons are still lost in wonder how one person sent from God can change the world. How can world of over 7million people be turned around by the death of one man. They are ignorant of the fact that every great thing begins with one person, one idea, one discovery.
The whole multitude of men and women in the world today’s from one man according to Acts 17:26. It’s amazing that Jesus is God’s last card to save the world, just one person. Just like every corporation or organization is the product of one man so also God.

Redemption is the agenda of the kingdom of God, Jesus Christ is the saviour of the world.

“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”2 Corinthians 5:14-15.

Salvation is the discovery of the love of God for the world; that one could die for all. The world is of immense value to him that died, and we count ourself fortunate to have been died for. An experience of the power that raised him from the dead makes instant turnarounds possible.

Decay is a process, resurrection is an instant restoration of life from death or dying. Think or stink, if the resurrection power cannot help, man is helpless in to the force of corruption in the world. He died to save the world from self destruction, every one that is saved is endowed with a saviour mentality. For everyone saved, many are saved through them; saved to save others. Salvation is an instant, it has multiplier effect; saviours are born, all can be saved. You won’t be the last to be saved! from one to all.

You won’t be the last to be saved! from one to all.

“Neither is there salvation in any other:for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”Acts 4:12.

Prayer:
Father, I see that there is no alternative plan for salvation but in Christ. One has died for all to be saved. Let the force of salvation continue to turn lives around in Jesus name.

Paid in full

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:14-15.

One of the desirable end point for every transaction is successful payment. Sometimes payment is declined, this could be from insufficient funds or transaction error. It may even be more grievous that after the transaction is declined, there is a debit alert; some persons call it double jeopardy.

Sin and death is a cycle, the transaction ends in debit, a loss. The transaction is well documented and the consequence well known. Sin pay wages, the payment plan continues; physically, emotionally and spiritually.
A wise man puts its succinctly, a man is born to die! The wages of sin. From birth death begins, the wager collects his bills to the end. Redemption is the termination of the sin-death cycle by a displacement and replacement by Christ.
The price for sin and death was paid in full, the debit program become a credit system.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”John 3:16-17.

His death terminated my death, my debt was paid for in his death and resurrection. The program of sin and death is abolished and everlasting life is activated. The debit cycle was for my destruction, the life cycle is my construction.

Resurrection is the the celebration of my restoration to the life cycle. My offence has been nailed to the cross, the handwriting of ordinance of sin and death was thwarted. The cycle of sin and death was terminated by the shedding of his blood. The sacrifice of Christ is the down payment for sin and death. To everyone connected to Christ, life is not a choice but a must.
Am no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God….live and not die!

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”Romans 8:1-2.

Prayer:
Thank you father for the termination of the cycle of son and death by the spirit of life by Christ Jesus. The resurrection is my ticket to the credit lifestyle. I am not born to die but to live in Jesus name.
