For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:12-13.

Many believers have not fully understood nor appropriated the fulness of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It’s obvious in the discourse on the role of angels and demons. The prince of Persia is just one of the third of angels that fell with lucifer. They’re all part of the principalities and powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places.

Daniel could not wrestle while the princes were at war, he could only wait. By redemption the sons took charge of former princes and put them in their new estate. The cross is the termination of their effect and influence; the end of their reign.

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:14-15.

The principalities and powers were spoiled or deprived of effect and influence. They were robbed of power which was originally bestowed in Adam and dethroned as princes by Jesus Christ the son of God.

This was not done secretly but openly and nailed it to the cross as a proof. The cross is the proof of the change of guards in heavenly places by Christ Jesus. The princes are dethroned and the sons are enthroned far above principalities and powers. The sons are in charge and in a class of their own in Christ Jesus. The contest is over, the conquest has begun.

The sons reign, no prince is permitted to asses or assail them. This is the proof of redemption, this is the heritage of salvation.

“Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)”Ephesians 4:8-10.

Prayer:

Dear father, it’s good to know that I am not only saved but safe in the kingdom of God. The princes have been dethroned, the sons are enthroned, thank you for the heritage of redemption in Jesus name.
