And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. 1 Kings 17:6-7.

The brook is God’s provision for temporal supply of resources. Brooks are pools of water that fill up with the rains and dry up after the rains. Their supply of water is seasonal and unsustainable. Any source or supply of resources without responsibility on the recipient is a brook. Many are living by it.  It’s supposed to be a stopover but has been turned into a lifestyle.  From one brook to another, one city to the other, wherever it is happening.  No long term plans of sowing and reaping or discovery of the covenant city. Raven fed buffet morning and evening is not sustainable; when the brook dries up, the Ravens stop coming. Many have lived most of their lives by the brook. One thing is sure, the brook will dry up sooner than later. One brook with much appeals is political; for a morsel of bread, Birthrights are traded. It fills up with rain of resource from politicians every four years. Are you living by the brook or by the covenant?  The covenant is God’s eternal word, timeless, and changeless.

“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”Jeremiah 2:13.

God’s own people do two evil, living by the brook instead of the book. Those that live by the brook forsake covenant responsibilities.  Waiting on the brook as their source instead of waiting on God. Searching for green pastures around the world instead of the covenant city. God’s word is the fountain, the source of enduring resource. Every brook that is not connected to the book dries up soon.

The covenant is the platform for unlimited resource. The word of God  is the book of good success and manual of prosperity. Those that drink from this book are not stranded by the brook. Prosperity is their destination, good success is their identity. From temporary to permanent, seasonal to eternal, brook to the source. No more lack, scarceness, dryness and hardness, be planted by the source. The covenant is the fountain of living waters that never runs dry. There is no dry seasons in the covenant city.

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”Psalms 1:2-3.
