Say his name! For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6-7. Names are powerful tools for identity and destiny. After the birth of a child, his name is the next quest. For a king with a lineage, names of former powerful kings are speculated. For this king, his name was prophesied. Multiple characteristics were documented, defining his identity & destiny. His name shall be wonderful, counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting father. That does not sound like a name but a vivid capture of his life in essence. Names follow persons and their lineages; they are not simple terms. “And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest:and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”Luke 1:31-33. There is no contradiction between the prophets and the angel. It’s the same God, the same name, the same purpose, identity and destiny. For every child given to man, a name is also given. May the names of your children be covenant names indeed. Jesus is his name, the course of his life was defined in the name. He has a human name, which was also his covenant name. His name is above every other name, everything and everyone bows. His kingdom has no end, great ones come and go but his kingdom reigns for ever. In his name his kingdom is provoked. His name is the password to everything in his kingdom and in heaven, on earth and under the earth. One name for everything. He name saves, delivers and heals; his name shall be called Jesus Christ. He is the king, his kingdom has come; this is Christmas. “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”Philippians 2:10-11.
