For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.
Christmas means many things to many people. A holiday, a season of exchanging gifts and showing kindness and Santa Claus. I don’t know what Christmas means to you. It’s about the birth of the king and the kingdom of God. Kings give justice and judgement, but this kings is the solution to life situations. He is the way, the truth and the life. Knowing the King and belonging to the kingdom makes Christmas real.
It is amazing that the whole world is fixated on a manger with a baby. Is he the most popular baby in town? Many likes, but not many followers. For being the king and the kingdom come, the manger was exchanged to a gift bag; another kind of gift. A Santa Claus instead of the father God. A holiday instead of a holy day; what is Christmas to you? The songs tell it all, the symbols speak volumes. There are many party makers, we sing and dance for different reasons. The song may not be about the king and his kingdom. The Christ in Christmas may have been substituted for an orgy of shame. That’s why many die, maimed, harmed or hurt. The shepherds had a party but none was harmed by angelic appearances.
The wise men travelled a long way to Bethlehem without incidents or accidents. They were warned against returning to the king for obvious reasons. That was the first Christmas and we remember many more 2000 years running. If Christmas hurts you, it’s fake Christ is born to save and keep you from all evil. The celebration is for those who know the king and belong to his kingdom. Admirers are welcome but please don’t change the manger for a basket. The truth with a tree, or God the father by a Santa Claus. Red is not the colour of Christmas, Christ is the colour of Christmas. Have a merry celebration of Christ, the king and his kingdom come.
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.”Luke 2:13-15.
