Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11.
Every time I attend events in the Eastern part of Nigeria, I am fascinated with names & titles of people. When a person is introduced, his title is also declared and acknowledged. Depending on his scope of influence his city or village is added to it. You will hear things like “Omel’oranaNsugbe” meaning The liberal giver of Nsugbe, “Ochi-Agha 1 na Awkuzu” meaning The First Warrior Chief of Awkuzu.
These titles are serious business and one may not acknowledge his name if his title is not declared.
When you seek to introduce a person, ensure his title is obtained correctly. Even in death, titles are heralded and eulogized. They lived and behaved their names. Every living being has a name, even non living things are also named. A name identifies, personalises and explains. No name is ordinary, everything reflects its name. When a name is called, we expect response or acknowledgement.
The name of Jesus also is exalted above every other name. Everything that has a name responds to the name of Jesus. His name does not only declare his person, everything in the vicinity acknowledges his presence. Whatever he does in person, his name commands.
Heaven stands at attention and earth obeys at the mention of his name.
His name has influence in all areas of human and spiritual endeavour.
His name is the final word for the desired change of health status.
When the highest shows up, the lowest bows down permanently.
His name brings glory to God. Call him by his name!
“And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know:yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.” Acts 3:16
