God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Psalms 46:1-2.
One of the disturbing pictures on television screens daily are refugee and internally displaced persons camps.
We have become accustomed to such that it may not be disturbing again. People living in squalor and make shift tents without basic amenities. Person, families and communities whose normal lives have been interrupted by wars, persecution, natural disasters, terrorism and the likes.
Hopeless, helpless, living for the day and at the mercy of all.
This has become the reality in many nations and communities. Refugees and displaced in their body.
Many are living in the world as refugees; without hope and without God.
Refugees and displaced in the mind and soul. These type of refugees live in their own homes without being at home.
Until God is found living is without hope.
Every life without the anchor of Christ is unconnected to God. Disasters and calamities come and go but hope keeps alive for ever. Hope gives rest in the midst of trouble.
One of the greatest asset of Salvation is hope for living. Jesus gives hope and refuge to every soul for life and eternity. That is the rest he offers. Hope is a basic amenity for life, it gives rest in the midst of every trouble. Living without hope is living without Christ.
Salvation grants refuge, hope and rest.
“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”Hebrews 6:19.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
